Thus, we have a lot of work to do. Note I say we, as I'm claiming this joint as MY weekend home as well. I'll just refuse to leave.
90% of ownership is possession.
With Leubitz in the city on business, Devine and I toured Bodega Bay, Bodega, Occidental and Freestone because I had to see every possible location Alfred Hitchcock may have used in his masterpiece, The Birds. I managed to buy every piece of The Birds crap I could get my hands on, including socks but excluding the $150 autographed Tippi Hedren photograph. Brian is a very patient partner is tourism.
"Brian! Oh my God!"
"Do you want to go into that store?"
Yes. I want to go in EVERY store.
We're back at the house, a chicken's in the oven, the board games are pulled out and the ocean is surprisingly deafening. Even though there are no rugs yet, it's all suddenly very cozy and Leubitz has just discovered Harry Potter 1 is on the flatscreen that still rests on the ground. I am in nerdy, sweatpants heaven on a Saturday night and I am looking forward to crawling into my very own guest bed after a obligatory viewing of The Birds.
Again, Brian is a very patient host.
For my next trip, does anyone know where they filmed Psycho? I'd like to stay in Room Number 1 at the Bates Motel...

Compared to me with my Saturday night of Photoshop project and DiGiorno pizza, you're practically at a Snoop Dogg party at Kink.com right now.
Sounds lovely.
Congratulations to the Brians
Man, I gotta get some better friends.
I read your blog, have never commented. In case you were serious about where Psycho was filmed, here is your answer.
The film, independently produced by Hitchcock, was shot at Revue Studios, the same location as his television show.
Sorry you will not get to stay in the Room Number 1 at the Bates Motel.
I highly recommend the barbecued oysters at that tiny little resto that hangs over the edge of the cliff on the north end of town. Ask for the butter and white wine version rather than the bbq sauce version. I recommend the kite shop next door, too. Oh, and eat some salt water taffy for me when you go to The Hole in the Head.
Beth! Tippy Hedron comes every year to sign autographs and other "Birds" arcana over 4th of July weekend, so don't pay the $150 when you can get it for free!!! I happened to be at the Tides last year while she was there, and I gotta say, Tippy is holding up remarkably well.
I'm envious. Very much so. Not only do you get to stay in Bodega Bay without reserving a campsite, you do so now. Now after a mysterious and many-years-long denial that The Birds ever took place in Bodega Bay.
