miss andy's so old...

You haven’t lived until you’ve put on choir robes and afro wigs wildly danced around the apartment lip syncing gospel music. You haven’t lived until you’ve driven around San Francisco on Valentine’s Day, screaming “Whore!” at women proudly carrying their roses. You haven’t lived until you’ve spent a weekend at a beach house in Sea Ranch, wrapped in huge blankets dancing on the deck chairs to the sounds of sea lions on the beach rocks below.
You haven’t lived until you’ve been best friends with Andy Jay Jolley. You simply haven’t lived…

re: gavin and kimberly.

the chron has written two articles about them getting back together. frankly, if you were as obsessed as i am, you would have caught this.

1. Matier and Ross article:
Estranged as it may seem: Yes, that was San Francisco Mayor Gavin Newsom (in a New York Yankees cap and heavy coat) and his former mate, Kimberly Guilfoyle Newsom, going into Enrico's on Sunday night.

The two were having dinner with, among others, party planner to the stars Stanlee Gatti and ex-Mayor Willie Brown. Then it was off to a
party at Jeannette Etheredge's Tosca Cafe.

"They were all smiles and talk," Brown said. "The perfect idea of a
happy couple."

From all reports, the two were together quite a bit last week -- with the mayor introducing Kimberly repeatedly as "my wife."

And until the divorce is finalized, they'll still be husband and wife.

As for what's going on with the couple that has supposedly split?

"That's what everyone is asking," said one friend of the pair. "But no matter what, I'll tell you -- they looked great together."

And by the way, the Yankees cap was a gift -- from her.

2. From this Sunday's "SWELLS"
Our gal in Ess Eff: She's just been named "Entertainer of the Year" at last week's USO awards luncheon in New York, but our gal out there, Court TV anchor Kimberly Guilfoyle Newsom, was down home during a recent visit home -- her first since the impending divorce from her husband, Mayor Gavin Newsom, was announced in January.

"I'm just wondering if the USO award means I'm going to have to sing and dance when I accept it?" teased the bodacious brunette at a cocktail party she organized for gal pals (including O.J. Shansby; Tatiana Sorokko; Lori Puccinelli Stern; Becca Prowda and Paige Barry of the mayor's office; Ruby Turk and jewelry designer Alana Leigh) at the Balboa Cafe.

Especially now that New York Daily News gossip columnist Lloyd Grove has reported she celebrated the end of the Michael Jackson trial (at a book party for her colleague Nancy Grace) by demonstrating her flair for moonwalking.

"These probably won't work," said Guilfoyle, gazing down at her 3-plus- inch Dolce & Gabbana wedge sandals, a gift from Ann Getty. The cocktail party was just down the street from PlumpJack Cafe where a rehearsal dinner was in swing to celebrate the marriage of Jessica Adriani and Jeremy Scherer, a cousin of Hilary Newsom Callan and Mayor Newsom.

The long weekend included a Father's Day visit with her dad, Tony Guilfoyle; the aforementioned wedding; and a birthday dinner at Enrico's Sidewalk Cafe (with Jo Schuman Silver, Stanlee Gatti, former Mayor Willie Brown, Sonya Molodetskaya and Matthew Goudeau of the Mayor's Office of Protocol) in honor of Jeannette Etheredge, followed by a party at Tosca Cafe.

Tosca was also the site of a previous stop for the soon-to-be-exes -- following dinner-a-deux at restaurant Jack Falstaff and cocktails at Impala. The two stopped in for a nightcap, joining some other VIPs in the backroom, including Matt Gonzalez (the mayor's onetime challenger to the throne), and Academy Award-winning actor Sean Penn (just back from Iran, where he traveled to record his observations for The Chronicle), who was being interviewed by scribe John Lahr for a forthcoming profile in the New Yorker. Phew -- and everyone played nice.

Kimberly and Gavin's divorce should be finalized by the end of July. But like that final scene in the film "Casablanca," it looks like the beginning of a beautiful friendship.
I hate Kimberly!
